A strategic Business plan is not complete without a strategic
Human Resources plan. Having a strategic HR plan, lined to the business
plan, is as important as having strategic plans for sales, marketing,
development and manufacturing. People are a critical resource that impacts
directly on the success of a business and in today's complex, business
environment full of legal and regulatory requirements (many which carry
penalties, fines, back pay, restitution, disbarment from contracts) failure
to comply can have serious cost and strategic implications for a business.
A strategic HR plan for a business must be linked to the
strategic business plan so that it parallels the direction of the business.
A business needs to attract, retain and motivate people. To do this effectively
it has to have strategies that include elements such as staffing, compensation,
benefits, training and development, succession, organization effectiveness.
